Does anyone know about the automobile models advertised on the inside front cover? The copy says you're buying not a kit but "plans" for a balsa-wood model.
Apparently you cut pieces from balsa sheets and glue them to ribs, like in airplane kits of the period. I guess you supply your own wood. Sounds like a complicated process. I'd like to see some finished models.

I was buying car models in the early 60’s at the local drug store. There was a peg of the balsa plan stuff hanging next to the shelves with the models. Flat pack papers with a glossy illustration on the front. I remember asking my brother about them. He laughed when he told me, “If you can put one of those together, you should be working in a car factory.” I was always in awe of that peg full of this stuff, wondering what kind of people were that good. Odd that my brother’s remark sticks in my head as all these years passed by.
