Eve apologizes to Gwynne and Larry forgives her as well. |

She meets American diplomat Bob and her superiors urge her to cultivate a friendship. Sonia falls in love with Bob but is informed that he’s a married man, so she breaks up with him, only to later learn he’s a widower. At a conference in Geneva, Sonia reconciles with Bob and defects to the USA. |

Time passes and Julie is singing in a “third-rate club.” When she meets Bill, she lies and says she’s a success, but he rescues her from a pushy club patron and they reconcile. |
