According to GCD, this is a reprint of Avon's "Escape From Devil's Island" from 1952.

NotesKinstler's cover has been toned down from the original printing. The lash marks on the half-naked prisoners are softened and no suggestion of bleeding from open wounds remains. The prisoner at left, sneaking up on the overseer, now carries a club instead of a knife. Kinstler's signature has been obliterated.
