Dear Editor,

When I saw the Beatles on the cover of your October issue of Summer Love, I bought it because I try to get everything Beatles. Instead, I was disappointed to find that they don't even appear in the stories! My allowance is only $2 a week, so you can imagine how sad this made me. Shame on you, Charlton. I may never buy any of your comics again!

Yours truly,
Deborah Sue Johnson, Age 13

an allowance of $2 a week would have been pretty high for 1966. 25 to 50 cents a week would be closer to the mark.

If it's #47 how can it be a one-shot?

Dear Mr. Devil Scans,

I work hard for my $2 allowance. I do my chores, maintain a B average, and babysit my little brother. I'm also on the track team.
Maybe your parents just don't love you as much as mine love me? Or maybe you're just poor and your parents are too ashamed to tell you?

Yours truly,
Deborah Sue Johnson, Age 13

I was going to make a comment on "it's Charlton, that's how a one-shot is #47" , but a check of the GCD shows it's not actually. It's the 2nd of three issues.

there are 2 more issues of Summer Love. Interesting to know that the Beatles appear on the first 2 issues. Hope there will be uploads of the other 2.

Issue #46 is VERY expensive and generally not available due to Beatles collectors having taken them out the normal circulation routes for old comic books. Issue 48 is not in the public domain, so it cannot be posted here.

RE: #46.
There's a very nice (but lo-res) front cover scan at the bottom of this page:

I wonder whether he has a copy, and whether he'd contribute a scan? Or maybe trade one?
