On page 13 of the story London looks quite a bit like Mega City One.

A nice little mystery from Bob Keston with millions of marvellous machines from Ron Turner. Thoroughly recommended reading!

Something's strange about Turner's art here. It's much less heavily-inked than most of his Rick Randoms. It does look like Turner's inking, not someone else, and it's still good. Just not the same.

To me, the artwork has very sparse backgrounds, especially for the outdoor scenes, which are few, to begin with. i find that very strange for a sci-Fi story. Most of the story is indoors, and when it takes place outside, the opportunity to show what "The frozen World looks like, and give it a mood, is not used. It gave me the feeling that I was at a 1970s machine sales or technology exhibition, rather than in the distant future and on another planet.

Way back in SDL #79 I commented on a change in Ron's art. In earlier works he would use shade to suggest outlines rather than draw hard lines round his characters, but that seems to change and progress to this very clean style with outlines on all the figures and less black overall. Whether it's a separate inker or an editorial decision I don't know, it's still Ron but not the Ron I used to know! Mind you some of the scripts don't give him the opportunity to use his imagination to the full...
