I just love the lettering on the Francis Drake strip (and the intro to Sigurd)! utterly flamboyant, but readable!

The lettering was done by Helmuth Nickel, who also wrote and drew the strip. His interest in history got him the job of a museum curator in the States. More in Wikipedia
