Will F. Jenkins was better known as s-f writer Murray Leinster.

The art here is very good, dynamic as all get out and generally well-drawn. I wonder if it might have been drawn by Bill Ward (not the American Bill Ward), who worked for Fleetway in the 50s and early 60s, "notably on the Thriller series." The reason I think this might be so is that among a huge archive of his artwork (now owned by Bishopsgate Institute) is a full set of originals for a book titled "Stampede" and a full set of proofs for this comic. The trouble is that this Ward went on to become a major figure in male erotica, and all the online references to him and the sample images concern that work. Based only on these samples I'd have concluded he isn't the guy. The art for the porn strips strips is nowhere as good as that in "Fighting Tornado." BUT a single low-res image of a yellowed western page in Picture Library format looks like it might be the "Tornado" artist. Does anybody know for sure?

Absolutely not by the American Bill Ward. Plenty of Bill Ward on CB+. /search/?cx=partner-pub-9639869078401298%3A2415513160&cof=FORID%3A10&ie=UTF-8&q=Bill+Wa rd&sa=Search&siteurl=comicbookplus.com%2F%3Fdlid%3D78067%26addcomment%3D1&ref=&ss=33 92j1519140j11 Male Erotica? Not unless there were two Billl Wards. Bill Ward was best known for Torchy. /?cid=3068 He did later create much Female Erotica, most of it mild by today's standards. Although not comic code approved.

I made that comment specifically to acknowledge that I was aware of American Bill "Torchy" Ward and that he's not whom I'm talking about. Here is the Bishopsgate Archive bio of Bill "gay porn" Ward: https://www.bishopsgate.org.uk/collections/bill-ward-archive

My apologies. Posting late at night just before bed is not a good idea! Cheers!
