interesting cover, many of these comic strips ran in the daily news until at least the seventies,Terry and the Pirates, Moon Mullins, Winnie Winkle,Gasoline Alley, I remember all of them from when I was in Grammer school,stuff I haven't thought of in a long long time. Smokey Stover is super classic in my opinion.
