Now without the means to feed himself on the way, Humphrey soon becomes overcome with hunger, and stops in a local town. There happens to be a pie-eating contest, and Humphrey wins, smashing the local records.

When Knobby tells Humphrey's sister, Prunella, of how much prize money could be contributed to the charities she loves, Humphrey agrees to his first fight, which he wins with one punch.
