Not my cup of tea, but classier than the average Charlton.

" classier than the average Charlton!" Kingcat, I think you just invented a catchphrase!

Can't wait to read about the forbidden love between an actress and a train engineer.

The book is really light on background art

Terrible lettering on half the stories. Charlton moved to lettering by "A. Machine" in the 60s--they should have started a couple of years earlier if this is any indication.

I think "Less than Perfect" was pencilled by Art Capello rather than Bill Molno. The story title fits the entire issue. Only John Tartaglione comes off halfway decently. The last story is from the Ten Minute school of comic art: if you spend more than ten minutes on a page you're working too hard. That lousy letterer worked on a bunch of Charlton books around this time, then disappeared. Maybe an unknown problem left the publisher without a letterer and they had one of the office help fill in. Actually Charlton's letterers, e.g. Jon D'Agostino, weren't that bad. But Mr Machine was faster and cheaper, which is what Charlton was all about.

Wow, this really is about the worst lettering I've ever seen! They didn't even bothered with using ruled lines. It's like someone sat at a table and just scrawled it all. 'There, done!'
