"Lightning Jim" isn't a newspaper reprint but it doesn't seem to be a Dell original. The logo says "Copyright 1941, Beatrice Creamery Co." Could he be a radio character sponsored by a creamery? EDIT: I found out that "Lightning Jim" was indeed a radio series. It ran from 1939 through the late 1940s. Its sponsor was Meadow Gold, a brand of the Beatrice Creamery Co. Jim was played by Francis X Bushman, the silent movie Ben Hur.
