Interesting that there are a couple of real ads in this issue. Given that "Ballyhoo" specialized in parodies of magazine ads, I imagine advertisers might be afraid readers would think their ads were phony. Not Baby Ruth and Absorbine Jr, maybe. But the "Curious Books" and "Amatory Curiosa" ads are hard to take seriously, though they are genuine.
