NotesTRIG MATSON 1 is an anthology comic with ‘Trig’ Matson as the lead feature and a regular line-up of two or three other features over all six issues (unusually, the same features). It was published by Calvert Publications in February 1951 (estimated). The stories are ‘TRIG’ MATSON by Kevan Hardacre, ACE GREMLIN AND NUTKEY by Terry Brand, CRIME-BUSTERS INC by Michael Trueman, and BOBBY SOCKA by unknown. If you don’t like Westerns, don’t worry – ‘Trig’ Matson is the only Western in the line-up.

Not sure why Trig is called 'Trig'. I'm guessing it's short for 'Trigger', but if he uses maths to improve his shooting, it might be short for 'Trigonometry'.

Thanks for this Dan!

Starlight the pony is the real star of Trig Matson. Starlight should have gotten top billing.

A fun anthology comic with decent art, particularly Michael Trueman ("Crimebusters"), who appears to have picked up a thing or two from Will Eisner's Spirit.
