NotesOKAIE, MASTER OF THE JUNGLE was published by the Offset Publishing Company in December 1945 (estimated). It includes three adventure stories: OKAIE, MASTER OF THE JUNGLE by ‘Golly’ (a pen-name of Geoff Litchfield), JIMMY WESTON, ACE ANIMAL CAMERAMAN by Len Lawson, and THE OUTLAWS by ‘Gosh’ (another pen-name of Geoff Litchfield). Of these three features, Okaie is the only one to make more than one appearance. There are also two 1-page humour strips by ‘Brad’ (pen-name of Royce Bradford)’

Geoff Litchfield was a commercial artist, working in advertising (including pioneering work in animated advertising) before branching out into providing illustrations and cartoons in magazines. He was active in community arts, including providing illustrations for theatrical works. And he did produced a limited amount of work for the comics, using the pen-names 'Golly' and 'Gosh' possibly to provide cover from his more commercial clients. Okaie, Master of the Jungle, was an inventive concept set in an imaginary past where men and dinosaurs co-existed. Litchfield produced three Okaie stories in a short period of time in 1945-46, as well as a handful of other short comics stories, before disappearing from the comics scene.
