Phil Mendoza does a terrific job on the art. One thing puzzles me. In the books Fu is "tall, thin, satanic," etc. In the magazine illustrations that's also how he was portrayed. Ditto the "yellowface" actors who portrayed him in movies. Here he looks more like a comfortable Chinatown merchant! I wonder why the editor preferred this less forbidding characterization.
