THE SECRET FORMULA was published by the Offset Printing Company in May 1945 (estimated). It contains two separate recurring features: RED STEELE by Hal English and SHADO McGRAW by Will Donald. (These two features often appeared together.) Under World War II printing restrictions to save paper in Australia, no new periodicals were allowed to be registered, but a loophole in these rules did not prevent one-off publications. Comics fans had to keep an eye out for favourite characters turning up in differently named publications. There is more information about this book at the bottom of the page
