NotesMAGICAT 2 is an anthology comic published by KG Murray in 1948. The lead story features Magicat, and is written and drawn by Hart Amos. The comic also includes a Professor Pry the Wise Guy one-pager by Lloyd Piper. There are three stories originally published in the USA in Crack Comics by Quality Comics – two featuring Floogy the Fiji, and the other is an Inkie story. The issue is rounded out by two further stories of unknown origin – they may be by Australian creators or by American. (There is no info of the character in the Grand Comics Database.)

Magicat by Hart Amos appears as if it was inspired by US Fox Features' "Cosmo Cat", which had been reprinted by Australian publisher K.G. Murray in 1947, the issues for which, Amos drew Australian-produced filler pages and short stories. The undocumented features, "Bingo Bear", "Professor Pry', and Piggo (Pig), seem very much laid out in the Australian style, and the names of the writers are unknown to me (so are likely to have been supplied, written and drawn by Australian creators, working for Murray. "Piggo" certainly looks like Hart Amos' style. "Professor Pry" and "Bingo Bear" look like the styles of 2 other Australian artists, whose style I recognise, but whose names I cannot recall.
