NotesTIM VALOUR 24 (second series) by John Dixon was published by Action Comics in August 1952 (estimated). This issue contains three stories, two Tim Valour stories by Dixon and a short standalone story by Len Lawson. The Tim Valour stories are quite different: the first seemingly an introduction to a new series featuring Little Pip and Tumbo (who did not get their own series) with Tim Valour used as a framing device, and the second a return of a science fiction style of story. The other story, ‘Gunsight’, is a war-time vignette. Numbering of Australian comics is often mystifying. Tim Valour originally ran for 38 issue from 1948 to 1951, then the numbering restarted from #10 and ran to #50 between 1951 and 1954 (there was no break in the publishing). After a couple of years off (with only one Tim Valor Special in 1955), Tim Valour returned for a third series, commencing with #11 and running to #29 between 1956 and 1957. Overall, there were 99 issues of Tim Valour (including the Special).
