NotesDAUNTLESS ‘magpie’ COMICS is a anthology comic published by Frank Johnson in 1946. It includes BOWYANG BILL by Emile Mercier, CRASH McKANE by Rhys Williams, MILT GRAY by Carl Lyons, KIM HALE by Noel Cook, BUNYA THE BUNYIP by Noreen and Ralph Shelley, STEVE CONRAD by Peter and Ross Chapman, DICK DESTINY by Carl Lyon, with short humour pieces by Emile Mercier and Dick Alderton, and some factual features. This issue has printing issues, with the content comic close to and sometimes over the edge of the page. It may be an issue with this particular comic, or it may be in every copy of the comic. Luckily, the stories are still readable. (If a better copy turns up, this upload will be replaced.)

I sure wouldn't mind seeing the next installment of BOWYANG BILL!

Pete Smith's personal copy? Ben Bowyang's (CJ Dennis) a lot funnier
   By
Whether Peter Smith owned this copy, or an owner noted Mr Smith's address on a blank space for some reason, isn't clear. As to Ben Bowyang, comic strip collections based on the character created by CJ Dennis may be added to this site in the future.
