As I noted (tongue in cheek) on my blog--40 Uses for a Dead Funny Book--"11. If you have a fancy toybox made out of wood, you might want to try decoupage. Get your parents to show you how. I decorated my toybox this way and it looks really great!" I actually did this when I was a teenager back in the '70s. I cut out lots of images from my comic books--mostly from the house ads and the public service ads--and decoupaged them onto a fancy pine chest/window seat that my parents gave me for my birthday. I decided to use it for my growing comic book collection. Although that measure didn't last long and I requested filing cabinets for the following birthdays and christmases--and filed my comics in folders. The chest was used for other things after that--its funcition has changed over the years. Right now it's holding most of my old games like Monopoly and Masterpiece and other old games and toys. At some point I decided to remove most of the decoupage, although there are some remnants remaining.
