Peter Hazeldene exhibits a rare display of his better side that is inspired by his sister Marjorie. When he stands up to George Bulstrode over a stolen locket with his sister's picture within Harry Warton and co. back him up and earn his gratitude. Bulstrode continues to be the main antagonist in the story with his bullying ways but for the first time receives his just deserts at the hands of his study mates.
