Almost an even matchup of Hollywood and UK comedians in this one. Abbott & Costello, Joe E. Brown, Red Skelton, Jerry Lewis (solo) vs. Terry-Thomas, Tommy Cooper, Frankie Howerd, Ronald Shiner. Laurel & Hardy counts as half each (by nationality), although as a team they were Hollywood.
I think I've said this before, but while the cartoonists get the likenesses of the characters, no attempt is made to write stories that reflect their screen personas. You could literally switch any comedian to any other story.
