Mind-blowing cover with Jay Disbrow’s pencils on Death Ship. Good story too – the existential quest that drives a man to find his own oasis of peace and solitude where he can find true happiness. (Mine is the far corner of the snug in The Long Man in Wilmington)
The Face of Death has some brooding, atmospheric uncredited panels, a half-man / half-beast that looks remarkably like my mother-in-law and a missing page three (page seven is reprinted and transposed into page three, I think).
My favourite though was Mankillers with panther-loving amazon queen and Betty Page-lookalike Rulah sorting out an evil tyrant, studying Congolese cosmetology and adopting new standards in snakeskin leotards. Gotta be a winner!
