Completely Mad Don Martin
« on: December 18, 2009, 06:04:11 AM »

Acting on a tip from Mark Evanier's website, I went to my local Barnes & Noble earlier today and found several copies in the discount book area, marked down to under $25.  Since I've been seriously tempted more than once at the full $150 price I grabbed a set and ran.  A very fun book!  Just something to look for if you get a chance; they had a few at that price on the B&N website but they're sold out there now.  Check your local store, though.

Now if I could just find the Far Side collection that cheap...

I have no idea if they've been remaindered, but I'd strongly recommend the complete Calvin & Hobbes, too, if you can find it.

I've got the Calvin & Hobbes set already, that was a Christmas gift a few years ago.  Another wonderful set.

I grew up reading C&H along with Bloom County.  A golden age of strips IMO

C&H were the Peanuts for the next generation. Now both are no longer being produced. Not sure what the next superstar strip will be but there are a few contenders.
