Sorry to hear that animator Gene Deitch has passed away aged ninety-five - perhaps known best for his work on Popeye and Tom & Jerry

I'm also sorry to hear this news, despite living to 95 getting to a ripe old age that might not be possible for me in this new "age of pandemics".  i was a fan of Deitch's work, not only in animation(UPA, and New Terry-Toons), but also in comic strips, and even comic books (Pines' Terry-Toons group, which included Deitch's new additions, "Clinton Clobber", "Tom Terrific"(based on Deitch's newspaper comic strip, "Terrible Thompson".  He also had had a comic strip ("The Cat" in the Jazz magazine, "The Record Changer".

Working behind the Iron Curtain of that time, he directed 13 episodes of the animated Tom and Jerry and also some of the Popeye the Sailor series.

It's hard for me to imagine how he did that.

I didn't know Gene Deitch was the bloke who did Krazy Kat for King Features in the '60's.
Since they weren't the original Krazy Kat, I have ignored them. I will have to track them down now.
