Hi All,
At the moment I am developing a superhero game. I would like to use public domain comic book heroes & villains. I want the game to have a golden age feel to it.
Know that I will go out of my way to acknowledge the creators & original publishers. Possibly even having a section in the rulebooks that includes a history of the character. Creators, publishing history, etc

I could use some help.

Am I allowed to use the intellectual properties? Character, backgrounds, etc.

Am I allowed to use artwork from these comics?

What if these characters have been used recently by other creators? Such as the Black Terror.

Are all characters/art in the public domain usable in the same way or are there different things I need to consider for different characters?

Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.
