Yeah, I suppose some people like to put EC’s horror comics on a pedestal that’s high to the point that one ends up seeing all the other contemporary horror comics as extremely inferior. And while that’s not to be unappreciative towards the hard work that went towards not just EC’s art, but also their writing, however politically and socially conscious it was, that shouldn’t take away from any enjoyment one may have browsing through other contemporary horror comics, regardless of how different they are from EC’s.
