Hey everyone,

I thought I'd share what I've been doing with many of the comics I download from this site. I am a group editor at the Five Earths Project, a collaborative fan fiction project taking place in the DC Multiverse that includes the five main Earths that appeared during the Crisis on Infinite Earths: Earth-1, Earth-2, Earth-X, Earth-S, and Earth-4.

My main focus over the last year or so has been Earth-4, and I've been hard at work creating a timeline that includes as many comics published by Charlton as possible. Because of the connection with Blue Beetle, we've also included Fox Features and Holyoke in our continuity, and a few other characters bring in Spark and Comics Media as well. We've also added Tower's THUNDER Agents recently, and it seems to fit.

Writing this timeline has been a labor of love, because it's allowed me to read all these great golden age and silver age comics and figure out ways to fit the stories into a single world's timeline. It's also helped me create connections between characters that had no previous connection. For example, Holyoke's Volton and Tower's NoMan are connected because (in our continuity) they're both androids with the minds of men. In a recent story featuring the Sentinels of Justice (Charlton's action heroes), I explain the connection more precisely.

Other examples are a bit more obvious. In our timeline, we have Dan Garret (the golden age Blue Beetle) and Dr. Dan Garrett (the silver age Blue Beetle) as separate persons. In fact, Dr. Garrett is a grown-up Sparkington J. Northrup, who was briefly the original Blue Beetle's kid sidekick. One of our writers established that Dr. Garrett had a daughter who has become a fourth Blue Beetle, even though Ted Kord (the third) hasn't retired. I realized that, unless Dr. Garrett had been previously married, his female Egyptian friend Prof. Luri Hoshid is the primary candidate to be the mother of his daughter. Although I haven't yet written the story about it, I figured Dr. Garrett had a premonition of his death on Pago Island and married Luri, spending a blissful few months before the legacy of the Blue Beetle was passed on to Ted Kord.

Anyway, the link to the timeline is below. I just wanted to share that these golden age and silver age comics available on this site and others are so rich in story that they've inspired me and several others to continue the story by writing fan fiction.
