Hair Today - Gone Tomorrow

One of the things I've been exploring lately (from an academic viewpoint I hasten to add) is bio-markets.

A growing trend in crime organisations is the trafficking of human body parts. It's much more lucrative than you might think and because most of it sits beneath the radar there's less collateral loss of manpower or profit - like you find in the drugs trade.

Here's a new comic book on hair trafficking:

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/technology/inside-the-criminal-underworld-of-hair-trafficking-with-the-new-crime-comic-snatched/ar-BB1fryO9

The principles though apply to all body part trafficking:

Interesting to know that a typical healthy human body is worth half a million pounds sterling to the mafia in scrap parts (probably a bit less in my case - unless there's an upswing in the body fat market).

I had a haircut this morning - barbers in Scotland are open again - and there was so much hair around the chairs, the shop could make a fortune selling it. :o ;)
