If one wanted to put together a list of his books in some kind of order (chronological would be fun)
and give me the list with the GAC link for each book I eventually could put something like that together.

Even better would be a complete list of ALL his public domain books in order even if we didn't have them that way we'd know which books to be looking for in the future would be even better.

I'm not a Kirby specialist so if someone does the leg work I could put together the section on GAC later.

How about I suggest a challenge to all Kirby fans on GAC... specifically, the "WOW" challenge. 

According to Kirby (as reported by Mark Evanier in his bio of Kirby), while working for Victor Fox's studio he had happened to fill an entire panel with the word "WOW."  Fox happened to see this and asked him what his reasoning was behind it... Kirby, who apparently was just trying to full a panel to get through the job quicker, made up a half-baked explanation about it adding energy and excitement to the story.  Fox bought it, and gathered the other artists in the studio around Kirby so that he could explain the "WOW" concept.  Apparently they all knew it was just done to get out of drawing a panel, but they all went back to their workspaces and immediately drew a big "WOW" in the next panel of the stories they were working on... regardless as to whether it was appropriate or not. 

The WOW challenge is this... find the comics and/or stories in which these "WOW's" appear.  If one of us can find at least one, then we could probably find the others... and establish this amusing anecdote as documented fact.

I would actually be surprised that Fox would care enough about the "art" to actually check the panels and question them.  He always struck me as the sort that just wanted the books out the door.

I was just flipping through "The Comic Book Makers" the other night and reread the story where Joe Simon was told by Fox that he wanted an explosion on (I think it was) the third panel of every page because Fox believed that that was the reason a particular issue of something sold well.  So, I believe that Fox was looking at the books now & then, but I'm not sure I buy this enitre "Wow" panel story.  Seems to be the kind of thing somebody somewhere would have noticed and/or verified by now.

Given the site is looking to add new content to make it more interesting a Kirby List - with links to books on the site and still needed is most definitely a desirable thing.  I hope bminor can pursue the idea and produce a list.  We could then work with him to present it to the others on the site giving him full credit of course.

I tend to believe that Kooba Cola never existed.  Robert Jennings wrote about Fox in COMIC WORLD and said, iirc, that none of his contacts had ever turned up a bottle of the stuff or ever remembered seeing it.  It's not impossible, but it's unlikely that it was extant.

If that's not enough Kooba for you, you can literally pick pretty much any Fox book at random and find at least one page of ad copy.  It's packed with vitamins, too!  Or it would be, if there was some kind of, y'know, recipe...
