Did you know Nabokov turned his hand to a poem about Superman and Lois Lane in 1942? It was turned down by the New Yorker. You can read it here - scroll down to the poem - it's at the bottom of the article:

Lois Lane / Lolita = similar aren't they? One wonders if Nabokov was influenced by the former when he wrote the latter ten years later?
