Thanks for uploading this rare gem of Golden Age simplicity! I've been looking for it for years. Ellis Holly Chambers' artwork in this one is very basic, as is all of his, but interesting to view. The story plots are ridiculously thin or almost nonexistent. So ridiculous that it seems to be a parody of a comic for not-very-advanced 2 year olds. Very campy. What humour there is seems to be poking fun at Superhero comics in an extremely dry, understated tone. It has always been guessed by many that Pat Adams was one of many pen names for Victor Fox. But, I don't believe that. I can't imagine that ruthless businessman having such a wry, and weirdly-inspired sense of humour. I'm sure Adams was a pen name for his hired, extremely lowly-paid main young children's comics writer. Given the lack of work involved in these Cosmo Cat so-called "stories", I'm guessing there was NO writer, and the artist, Holly Chambers, made up the idea for each story as he developed the storyboard sketches. It is clear by the low quality of the stories, that Victor ox didn't care much about what was inside the books, as long as the little kids liked the bright colours on the pages, and the movement of the figures, jumping out towards the reader. He just wanted to keep cranking out his books, and selling them as fast as possible. I think that Victor Fox told Chambers to draw anything he wanted that wouldn't get Fox in trouble, and that the little kids would like. Chambers may not have cared that he didn't get writing credit, but Fox gave him the job when other publishers had already blackballed him for his periodic late deliveries, after deadlines.
