Very stylish artwork but a curious one-joke idea: Mr. True becomes angry and physically violent when someone displeases him in ANY way. Apparently the laws against assault weren't strictly enforced in 1906 (even when he attacks a policeman!). It's amusing to see a string of turnabout-is-fair-play when his wife does the same thing to him, starting around page 61.

I suggest that at the time, nobody really believed that a cartoonist depicting behaviour in a cartoon was really suggesting that that behavior would be acceptable in real life. Not like today.
I remember Political cartoons when I was much younger depicting real people in situations which would be unthinkable today.
I don't object to the idea, but for me, there is something missing in these, a lack of verbal wit or something.

Yes, it's always the same type of action, and same reaction to the same type of behaviour.  So it's always expected, and so, it is boring.  I just like to look at it because of the great, expressive artwork.
