This issue marks the first appearance of "The Heap," a Swamp Thing-style character well before Swamp Thing appeared in DC Comics.

I like the way this title intermixes stories with a fantastic bent of incredible inventions and near-impossible derring-do with more standard war stories.

In commenting on #2, I said that the art didn't intend to offer realistic drawings of planes. I'm wrong in that this one has a page of WWII fighters (P-38, P-39, and P-40, respectively). Those drawings offered nice views of the planes for the medium.
