Curiously,
no art credits on this book. Cover is spectacular. The eyes and face on the woman at bottom right make me think Eisner. Given that 'Willis B Rensie' (spell it backwards) is in fact Eisner - and his studio was packaging these books at the time, that is probably him.
I have never understood why, in these 'Additional Information' boxes, - from GCD? - someone goes to the trouble of listing every individual character, even in standalone stories where the character appears only once and then is gone forever. Even in Romances, War stories, Horror stores. Why bother? I want to know the names of the creators and only the characters names if they are headliners, or if there is some narrative reason to note their appearance in a particular story.
cheers!

It?s down to what information the indexer has available.  For many of the old books solid creator information doesn?t exist, and in a shop environment it may never had existed in any meaningful sense.  As to minor character info, that can be pulled from the story with no other sources of information.  And you never know who might remember a name and try looking for the story based on that.

None of which changes the fact that I also prefer creator credits to the names of minor one off characters, though.

I seem to remember reading somewhere on the forum that a change on the GCD site means that most of the creator credits no longer appear on CB+ though the rest of their info does. I don't understand how the link works, but it's definitely frustrating. I'd much rather see creator credits than the identities of one-shot supporting characters. As for indexing in general, I've found the story titles and plot descriptions useful in searching for half-remembered stories. The character name indices have been useful mostly for finding which comics a particular series character appeared in. I haven't found any use for supporting character and one-shot character names. I suppose if I wanted to find all romance stories featuring a guy named Brad that info would come in handy.
