Just have a quick look at the home page and make your choices! D'Oh!

Newspaper Comic Strips
https://comicbookplus.com/?cid=6

Some are just one row, some are not, have a look and you will find something.
Bear in mind that they are PD, in the public domain, so there are no recent strips.

Enjoy!

Thanks for your reply. I've looked in the same section you show. As far as I can tell, I have to download them and view them before knowing whether they are one row. Takea a bit of time, and so far haven't found any I like.

No, you don't have to download them to just read them.  All you have to do is click on "Comic Strips", then choose a specific comic strip you want to test for 1-line format. On that strip's page, click on the blue font highlighted number in the "Strips Available" column. That will take you to a page listing year-by-year collections of individual daily or Sunday strips from that year.  Then click on the highlighted strip name listing that year (i.e. "Billy Make Believe 1934"). That will take you to a scan of the first daily or Sunday page in that year's collection.  Just looking at that year's first page will show you whether the strip is in one-line format, or not.
