I wonder if these were actually "sold." I couldn't find any that had cover prices and the GCD says "price [none]" so they could have been giveaways (or sold in packages of multiple comics).

The printing IS terrible--I wonder what the production process was. Did they just take copies of the original Fawcett comics and somehow crudely re-format them for printing in this small size? This was in the days before "scanning," so some physical process was involved in getting these cut down and reprinted.
