Nyoka not only changes her costume on the cover with this issue, her outfit inside (while completely different than the cover photo) is definitely skimpier than previous issues.

I had wondered why Nyoka's costume is considerably more prim and proper compared to most 'Jungle Girl's' Sometimes you miss the obvious - the covers make it obvious that Nyoka was a movie character first and the comic uses the movie costume - which in that era could not be that revealing.
The comic artist tho, had a bit more leeway and took advantage of it.
The costume in # 75 actually makes a lot more sense in a tropical climate.

Didn't know till now, but apparently the Genesis of Nyoka Jungle Girl was in E. R Burroughs writing.

Quote
The short story that led to the creation of Nyoka was "The Land of Hidden Men" by Edgar Rice Burroughs in the May 1931 issue of Blue Book.[1] The short story was later expanded into the lost world novel Jungle Girl, published in 1932.

Quote
The Jungle Girl serial is officially based on the Burroughs story "Jungle Girl", although there is no character named Nyoka and no Nyoka-like character in the original story. The movie's credits list Burroughs along with six other writers, but his input on creating the film character was obviously minimal, because the studio later was able to use the name "Nyoka" in a sequel without crediting Burroughs at all.

cheers!
Here is the original serial. Good print. Enjoy!

This is fascinating, thanks for sharing :). Luckily you can also switch on English subtitles, which makes it a lot easier for me to understand  8). Of course I'm also a fan of modern TV series, but these old shows and serials are just wonderfully nostalgic.

Thank you for the hints :). Unfortunately, this serials was never shown in Germany.

As far as I know, only the following serials were shown in dubbed version on TV or released on DVD in Germany:

Undersea Kingdom (1936)
Buck Rogers (1939)
Flash Gordon (1936-1940)
