crashryan above did not clearly understand the inside cover comic strip. It was not knocking comic books, it was defending them. The books shown in the one panel are children's books about popular fairy tales, not comic books. He was demonstrating to the woman how books like those which she and most children read in their youth were no better than comic books/strips. The whole point of that page was to push against anti-comics hysteria that was happening at during this era.
