It looks like the artist didn't have many pictures of McGoohan to work from. It's the same full face over and over, and the rest of the time there is very little resemblence, when you can see the face at all. Must have been a challenge.

Yes, I remember looking for reference photos of McGoohan around this time (long story) and found only three or four posed head shots, which aren't very useful for storytelling. Add to this the fact that the art is the product of the Bill Fraccio-Tony Tallarico team, which always turned up when the page rates were very low. Fraccio was a grand master of the copout and had little interest in reference anyway (check out his Charlton war comics for examples).
