Interesting read.

Just want to mention the way I got buying and scanning older stuff (not golden age at the time) was filling out all of the reprint issues of a series that were using pages from the first time the story had run and didn't include the ad pages in the so scans for those later issues in the series (For example if issue number 35 was reprinted in issue 127 the original scan of 35 was used in the issue numbered 127 in what people shared).  Took me a while but with the help of some others I was finally able to replace those issues with the actual issues even though they were just reprints and some thought it was stupid to do.

Hope I made enough sense to be understandable here.  If I sound incoherent or babbling may some moderator please feel free to either try and make sense of what I wrote or just delete the post.

I guess it really depends on the title. One thing I think we all can agree on House Ads as well as ads for related serials/radio shows should be scanned! :)

I've never actually seen a complete list of all the IW titles - did anyone ever put together one and where the source material was from?

Hi Denny,
Jon Ingersol posted a list of IW books and the original it was from.
I'll create a new topic for it in case others want to correct or add to it.

I to am of the c2c camp. It saves time when you've scanned an ad and you can "re-use" it and don't have to re-scan it. I been saving them just for that reason as some books are in pretty bad shape (torn, taped, missing parts of the page, water damage, etc.) at times and using one of those "scanned ads" helps immensely to replace it with.

Geo, haven't heard much from you lately. Are you doing okay? Or just busy! Either way, I miss your posts. And I'm checking in with all the scanners to see how they're coming along with my books. Please, no pressure intended, just a benchmark check.

Hope you're doing well and that the new year has great potential for you and yours.

Peace, Jim (|:{>

Jim, I answered your question over on my thread here: What I'm working now...

Here are a couple of ads I found interesting and just thought I'd share them with you folks:

For only $2.98 huh?
and then this one:

This is a 1952 ad and check out those prices on the right-hand side for air tanks, wow!

I think that the entire book should always be scanned.

It is an invaluable piece of snapshot of that period in time.

I was just looking through one of the books from our website here and saw the most interesting ad.
It was for a combination cigarette lighter and case for cigarettes! You won't be seeing something like that these days!

Sure, some may be repetitive, but they do change over time.

I do not understand the facination with c2c. I would rather not have the more mundane ads.

I just can't help myself! I need to have every last page of each issue! It is an obsession and I am powerless in the matter!

Whoa that was a two and a half year old statement. I now feed your addiction bminor. I was persuaded, I think by jonthescanner to include everything. Even my SA Charltons are c2c. Unless I am missing the covers.
