« on: December 16, 2011, 06:06:53 PM »

D C Thomson, the publisher of Beano, Dandy, Commando, plus newspapers, magazines and books and based in Dundee, Scotland, have issued their results today.  While I'm sure few of you are interested, there may be some benefit in having a look at the info.  DCT have been publishing comics and storypapers for yonks.  Here are some links:-

Interesting. I actually contacted 2 of their publications the other week looking for work as a colorist. Their publications strike me as very much reflecting their local culture, meaning I wouldn't expect them to find much of an audience outside the UK. But that wouldn't bother me if they needed help. (I've been trying to hit every publisher I can find.)

I've actually been looking at a number of old British comics that some guys at one of my Yahoo groups have been making available.  Quite a number of issues from the 1930s-1960s with titles like Comet, Knockout, Wizard, Sun, Lion and others that are usually a mix of comics and text pieces.  Also some British versions of American comics.
I haven't paid too much attention to the various publishers as I've looked them over but probably should start noting such things.

Of course the big problem with EU books is their crazy hundred years after death rule. How hard is all that to look into!

Yeah I wouldn't know how to begin to check if any of them would be okay for GAC or DCM.
