Bill Boyd Western Comic Annual. L.Miller U.K. undated
« on: October 10, 2013, 01:42:47 PM »

Have just uploaded a UK L miller publication Bill Boyd Western Comic annual (undated). It contains black & white reprints from Fawcett comics. Although the first few pages are missing it is still worth viewing as it shows the length and liberties UK publishers went with the original source material.
At least 5 of the Bill Boyd strips :-
The case of the Green Trio
Dope Smugglers
The Case of the Red Paint
Bank robbery      and
At Deaths Door.

I think were originally Hopalong Cassidy strips that have had obvious crude alterations to titles, pictures speech bubbles etc To turn them into Bill Boyd strips. >:(
I hope someone can identify the original Hoppy comics they were taken from. ???

Very interesting.  My guide suggests there were 5 such annuals, from 1956 - 1960 but doesn't list contents of each book, although it doesn't seem to be #1 as it had the story,"The Diamond Horseshoe".  Also no note re. the changes made.  As a side note, there were 50? issues of Bill Boyd Western comic published by Miller, from 1950? - 1955?  So many British comics had no date in the indicia, or an indicia at all, for that matter.
