I'm not sure if it's me getting older and a bit jaded but I find many new American comics unreadable, and not good value for money.  So, while looking round for something to read a while ago, a friend, who's a huge Archie fan, suggested I try the Archie family.  Quickly realising we had Ginger and, thanks to Kracalactaka, a fair few issues of Suzie, I gave them a go, along with a pile of Archie Digests I bought at a mart.  This coincided with the re-launch of Archie and I bought them and Afterlife, and I haven't looked back.  Great fun, good entertainment, well crafted comics.  But that's not the only comics I've tried recently.  Marvel's re-launch of their line tempted me enough to buy #1 & 2 of Iron Man, #1 of Ant Man and 1 & 2 of Captain America.  I really enjoyed that #1 of Iron Man and there were some good dialogue lines in there, but #2 just seemed to go back to the whole modern superhero thing.  Gosh, there's Doc Doom, again.
Cap. was "interesting".  But can I really take Sam Wilson as Cap and as a gadget superhero?  I think the answer is no, for me, anyway.
Ant Man was not very good.  So I wont be buying the rest of these series.
Being a Phantom addict, I tracked down #3 & 4 of the Hermes press version - David and Velluto.  These were better, but then, it is The Phantom. 
I'll stick to older comics for the time being.  Heaven only knows, there are enough of them to read, and I'm curious to know if anyone else has the same ideas about all this - or disagrees completely.

Well, I read the offerings I get on Free Comic Book Day and Halloween Comic Fest, although I haven't followed up and bought the few I liked (Tales of Honor was nice, My Little Pony was okay).

A friend is on Dark Horse's reviewer list so I've read way too much Dark Horse pdfs (sound of head hitting desk.)

Resident Alien was a nice mystery series with a sci-fi angle.

Groo vs. Conan was funny. Regular Groo can be fun, but if I read too much Groo I can get tired of it.

Usagi Yojimbo is usually nice and well told, but doesn't usually grab me and say "Read me!" so I  look forward to the next issue.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer (and companion series Angel & Faith) are nice, but have fallen into the trap of assuming the readers have read the previous "seasons" of the book and don't feel the need to explain some details that should be explained.

I liked Mike Grell's Tarzan story that ran in a few issues of Dark Horse Presents.

The Conan books can be good.

I think other than those I mainly read webcomics.

My current reads are Wonder Woman 77 (art drawn to look like Lynda Carter) and the two regular WW series

[Archie vs Predator and Archie vs Sharknado were a hoot. The Archie horror books, Afterlife & Sabrina are quite well done and Vamperonica is coming soon.

Incidentally Archie is also diving back into superheroes with a new female version of The shield and they are bringing back The Hangman]

I like the new Darth Vader Series

Letter 44 and Uber keep me interested

The Conan-Red Sonja 5 issue team-up series was pure Hyborian fun and I like the Harley Quinn issues where she teams up with Power Girl.

I too liked Resident Alien. I enjoyed both the new Phantom series, much better than the Image junk. I get a few new comics. I get Bandette and Red Panda digital as fun reads. In paper I look forward to Femforce and Long Distance and new series Exit Generation.

Ah..  Femforce, now there's a comic series that's easy on the eyes  and yet so hard to find we have quite a lot of shops here yet none carry it except occasionally in the back issue bins.

Femforce, eh! I was a big fan and have the first 50 issues but don't read the new ones.  Comic shops here don't stock them.  narfstar and I are both fans of Bandette.  There are some other new titles that I enjoy but the vast majority of mainstream stuff seems to me, and I'm sorry to repeat myself, hackneyed and bad value.  New American comics are expensive here.  So, I buy the Flash, Arrow and Doctor Who Titan reprints which are good value with 80 to 90 pages for
