I have doubts the contents of #9 are legit. None of the cover characters are present in any stories within. Compare to Animal Crackers #31 or Leo the Lion #1 (which is apparently an unnumbered Animal Crackers that was previously unreleased.)

oh, ye of little faith and apparently no knowledge of how things were done back in the day.

'twas not unheard of then (or even now) for the Cover to have NOTHING to do with what was in the book.

I note that on the inside there is a Super Cat story, well I have seen "Super cat" comics that actually have no Super Cat stories in them.

also I note from the file info that the book was scanned c2c by js-DCP, a longtime and trusted scanner, if js says that this a c2c scan of Animal Crackers 9, I am inclined to believe him.

also, be sure to check out Suspense Comics 3, it has quite the attention grabbing cover (which has nothing to do with the inside stories)

Career Girl Romances 32 has Elvis Presley on the Cover, but when you look inside: alas! No Elvis!

these examples are just off the top of my head , I am 1000% confident that our members here could tie up the forums for eternity citing examples of comic covers not reflecting what is on the inside, from all eras of comics.
