Hello to everyone!
« on: December 31, 2006, 05:46:43 AM »

I wanted to pop in here and congratulate you all on a great site!  I was poking around a few other places on the net and ended up here the other day.  I can't remember where I was linked from, but I found you nonetheless.  I was very happy to see that someone was finally making all the classics available to everyone.  Too many of those old comics are just too expensive to buy as readers, and even more of them are just hard to find period as there haven't even been any reprint editions published.  If all you want to do is read them, in many cases, its just easier to chase other stuff that is a little more modern.  I've said for a long time now that digital was the way to go with this stuff.

So, about me:

I run my own website --> http://stlcomics.com

I started that site years ago as a backup to my comic sales on ebay, and it just kind of built up from there.  These days, our big thing is research.  We try to cover lots of topics, but mostly have done various work tracking vintage variants.  We've managed to get a fair amount of information about the Marvel 30 and 35 centers, the DC Whitmans, and the DC Pence variants.  I realize those topics aren't for everyone, but for those that are interested, you can't find a lot of the info we have anywhere else on the net.  That is the main reason we do it.

I also review new comics for another site: http://popthought.com
My most recent column is here: http://www.popthought.com/display_column.asp?DAID=1269
The reviews are something I've started doing much more recently than the rest of my projects, but it is a labor of love nonetheless.

Anyhow, I'm happy to join in here, and will happily help however I can.  Thanks again for all your hard work getting the site in place!
