Anyone using CDisplayEx as your comic reader?
« on: September 21, 2018, 02:00:11 AM »

I've recently read some comments on another group concerning problems with the CD-X reader. Something about the website being hacked and anyone downloading this version will also get a bunch of malware/spyware as well as unauthorized changes to your browser and search engines. The users all claimed to have unticked all the boxes so as to not receive unwanted software extras. Just want to know if anybody has had problems like this. I'm still using the old CD 1.8 with no problems, but it's getting a little tougher to find in case I need to redownload it. Yes, I know there are other great readers available, but I don't need all the extras and clutter- just a very simple reader. Any info will be appreciated, Cheers, Bowers

Yes, same here. A memebr on another site was talking about the same thing. I'm still using an old version of the reader and I've scanned it with malwarebytes and avast and it's clean. A lot of fold suggest ComicRack but I find it's a bit of a thug. I'll keep going with this old version till I have to change.

I'm using the original CDisplay on my PC and recommend Perfect Viewer if you are on an android tablet.

Yoc is bang on re. PerfectViewer for android.  And it is the best reader for pdf files on android.
I think if you have an older version of CDisplay, you're o.k.

Had similar problems downloading an "upgraded" version of CDisplay, which not only refused to read my comics but screwed up half the functions on my laptop until I uninstalled it.  Still happy with my original CDisplay which I downloaded on a link from Paul Tumey's "Cole's Comics" when I bought his restored Midnight vols 1 & 2.
