From the pen of TCH Jacobs (Jacques Pendower), one of the most prolific authors of the last century – more than 100 books to his name – but now, Jacques is largely forgotten. This is a reasonable adventure with a master hypnotist and a stolen Mona Lisa (quite expertly reproduced on the front cover, by the way – except for the rather odd striped dress – had the artist never seen the original?). The art is good (by ???) but the delivery relies on the text to pull the story along, so it sits in the twilight zone between illustrated novel and graphic novel.
