How do we feel about retroconditioning golden (or even silver) age comic book art?

https://bleedingcool.com/comics/marvel-artists-fix-mistakes-of-jack-kirby-joe-simon-for-6-99/

Is there room to have two versions - the original and the reconditioned? I remember seeing a Mona Lisa reprint, for example, after a blue rinse restored the original colour balance - it was pretty impressive - made you realise why it was such a big deal.

Well, redrawing iconic covers and panels? Yes Been going on for a long time anyway. Used to be called 'Swiping'.
But 'Marvel Artists Fix Mistakes of Jack Kirby, Joe Simon for $6.99'. I think that is the author of the article making his opinion plain. I doubt that is what those artists think they were doing anyway. this book is a homage.
The book is actually called, 'CAPTAIN AMERICA ANNIVERSARY TRIBUTE #1'
For 'tribute' and 'anniversary', read, 'Hey guys here's another way to make more money!'
Shows the currently creative bankruptcy of the industry. You get attention and get your comic bought by redoing famous work. By the original artists whose estates probably get paid zilch anyway.
I agree with the tone of the comments in the letter col.

Dear oh dear, all the fun and charm vanishes.

The only thing good in any of the pics is the "Captain America Comics" trade dress logo in the 2nd photo.

Everything else is a glaring reminder of why im not connecting with a lot of current books.

Jude Terror used to be one of the lead writers for a humor site called The Outhouse which made fun of comics (& comics reporting), so yes, I think he is making his opinion plain... sarcasticly.
