Here is a bit of pertinent information.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Armstrong,_the_All-American_Boy
[A short Jack Armstrong animated TV pilot was developed by Hanna-Barbera for a proposed television series. However, when negotiations for rights to the characters collapsed, the planned series was reworked into what became the animated adventure Jonny Quest (1964). The Jack Armstrong footage with the African aborigines chucking spears at two people escaping by airplane by hovercraft survived in the closing credits for Jonny Quest.[8]]
I'm sure we've got a few Jonny Quest fans here?

You certainly do have a Johnny Quest (1964) fan here - in fact, I remember that scene with the spear-throwing Africans in the credits - how interesting.

As a child, watching JQ felt 'grown-up' - I think that's because they were people instead of cartoon animals and because each episode told a story - that was quite new in TV animation then.
